Thirty-nine tax seasons on Commercial Street

Started with one desk and twelve clients in 1987. Still answering the phone ourselves.

Built one ledger at a time

Samuel Ledger opened the firm in 1987 above the hardware store on Commercial Street. Diane Keel joined in 2009, Eli Brandt in 2016, and the name on the door changed to match.

Thirty-nine tax seasons later we still work the way Samuel started: the same people prepare your return every year, a partner reviews every one, and nobody emails you asking for your Social Security number.

Three promises we keep

  • Careful with your data

Encrypted uploads, multi-factor sign-in and a written security plan, reviewed every year.

  • Fees before work

You get a fixed quote on your intro call. No surprise invoice after the return is done.

  • The same people

Your preparer and reviewing partner stay the same year to year.

From the founder

I tell every new hire the same thing: the numbers are the easy part. The client is trusting you with their whole year.

Most farm books live in the shop office, so that is often where we meet.
